Description
About this Venue
Our Ofsted registered activity camps in Salisbury are hosted at Sandroyd School.
Sandroyd School is an idyllic site. Located in over 500 acres of fields, woods, and parkland, the setting is breathtaking and offers a haven for outdoor activities, sports and exploration.
The main school building is Rushmore House, a stunning 19th-century country house. There are lots of indoor classrooms and a sports hall for when we head inside. As well as sweeping playing fields, this special site is even complete with a climbing wall, an indoor swimming pool, squash courts and enchanting woodland areas. This is a perfect and inspiring place for students to play, imagine and make treasured memories.
Activities
At the start of the day, our focus is to ensure children are made to feel welcome. They are encouraged to play some icebreaker games to help them feel safe and settle in well.
Children then take part in a multitude of activities, including team games, sports and arts and crafts. No two days are the same, with our exceptional staff creating a new programme of events for every camp. There are a wealth of different activities on offer which might include sessions such as treasure hunts and obstacle courses.
Creativity blossoms in our art activities, which might include sessions such as making sculptures and fashion shows. Our sports activities help children find the joy in physical activity. This might include tennis-based games and squash in the dedicated squash courts on campus.
This site’s awe-inspiring woodland areas even allows for bug hunts and getting creative with natural materials. Throughout the day, children can always pick from two different activities to suit their individual interests.
We divide children into age-appropriate groups with ratios of staff starting from 1:8 for our early years (3-year-olds), 1:10 (4-5-year-olds), 1:15 for 6-7-year-olds, and up to 1:18 for our 8+-year-olds. The aim is to keep these ratios as low as possible, as your children’s welfare is the single most important thing to us.
Under the guidance of our enthusiastic and welcoming camp leaders, we encourage students to make friends, try new things, and have fun!

We absolutely love Active Camps. They are so welcoming and take time to get to know the children, hand overs usually come with a cheery story or funny occasion that happened during the day. Kids always come out with handfuls of crafts, baking or some other creation!

My daughter really loves Oxford Active Camps - she looks forward to them for weeks in advance, and is always full of excitement at the end of the day, keen to tell me all about the fun she's had and the friends she's made.
