Set on 25 acres of beautiful grounds in Colchester, Holmwood House was established over 100 years ago. It is a leading independent co-educational school with first-class teaching and sports’ facilities.

Holmwood House’s extensive facilities include an amazing indoor heated swimming pool, as well as multiple tennis and netball courts. It also boasts a large sports hall, extensive playing fields, and a well-equipped art room for arts and crafts activities. It makes it the perfect venue for activity camps in Colchester.

Ideal For

Active Camps provide high quality, Ofsted registered, school holiday multi-activity and adventure camps for 4-14-year-olds. Camps take place all year round.

The activities are tailored to the children on-site by our brilliant activity leaders with engagement and enjoyment being at the forefront of everything we do. In fact, no two days are the same! As a result, children get to participate in a wide range of indoor activities and outdoor pursuits. This encourages children to immerse themselves in their surroundings and explore the amazing green spaces that the host school have to offer.

Each day our activity camps in Colchester will feature a different range of activities, and children will get to participate in a range of sports games and indoor activities. This includes football, tag rugby, dodgeball, basketball, creative arts, dancing, and drama, and also a host of team challenges to name a few!

Our wide range of activities are led by highly qualified staff including teachers and sports coaches. They are tailored for the children with updated daily timetables and seasonal themes. This helps to keep the children entertained, with engagement and fun is at the forefront of everything we do.

Operating for nearly 25 years, Active Camps offers exceptional childcare in a safe environment. It provides the perfect opportunity for children to have fun, meet new friends, try a huge array of exciting activities. We also help to build self-confidence and nurture young people into becoming the best version of themselves.

Swimming

Due to limited pool timings, we are unable to guarantee that every child will swim every day. If your child would like to take part in swimming when it is available, please make sure they bring their swim kit each day. Occasionally, access to the pool is not possible. This is due to the unpredictable nature of pool maintenance and means that swimming will not be available during every holiday.

Times & Price

£49 per day or £230 per week (Mon-Fri) – No extra fees to pay.
