About this Venue
Our Ofsted registered Activity Camps in Colchester are hosted at Holmwood House School.
Holmwood House School is situated on 25 acres of beautiful grounds. It boasts both exceptional indoor and outdoor facilities, with a grand main building and leafy and green field spaces outside. For sports activities, there are tennis courts, an impressive sports hall and even an indoor swimming pool. For other activities, there are also extensive classrooms, a spacious art room, a cookery room and a versatile hall space.
With the site’s brand new adventure outdoor play area, this is the perfect place for our energetic Active Camps to take place. With its fountain and pristine natural spaces, this is a majestic space for children to make special memories with their fellow campers.
Activities
Our Active Camps have programmes filled with a wide range of exciting activities. Spending time both indoors and outdoors, children will play games, do sports, arts and crafts and more! They might even participate in dance, acting or team activities such as coming up with business ideas. At this special Holmwood House site, the indoor swimming pool allows for exciting, fun-filled swimming games. The dedicated art room permits creativity to soar in activities that might include painting or making collages.
No two days are the same and every one of our energetic and dedicated camp leaders will come up with a new schedule of activities to suit the children. At all times, children can pick from two activity sessions, so students can tailor the experience to their preferences! With our mix of tournaments and team games, we encourage children to socialise and have fun with their peers in our safe and welcoming environment. It is a fantastic opportunity for children to find the joy in getting active, connecting with nature and trying new things!
Swimming
Due to limited pool timings, we are unable to guarantee that every child will swim every day. If your child would like to take part in swimming when it is available, please make sure they bring their swim kit each day. Occasionally, access to the pool is not possible. This is due to the unpredictable nature of pool maintenance and means that swimming will not be available during every holiday.

£53 per day or £250 per week (Mon-Fri) – No extra fees to pay.

Oxford Active is excellent. My children find the days are full of fun and pass quickly. Plenty of fresh air and outdoor exercise. They are put in bubbles with their friends and the staff so welcoming!
