Outdoor Adventure Activity Leaders

Location: Summer Fields School, Summertown, Oxford, OX2 7EN. Other Oxfordshire locations may also be possible.
Pay: £118.00-£150.00 per day, inclusive of holiday pay, depending on age and experience
Days: May half term (26-29 May 2026) and Summer Holidays (20 July - 28 August 2026)
Hours: Monday – Friday from 7.45am – 6pm (you do not need to work every day or every week during the summer)

For over 20 years, we have been providing high quality term time wrap around childcare in schools for children from 4 to 11 years old, as well as holiday camps during school holidays for children aged 4-14.

If you have a passion for the outdoors, are experienced and/or qualified in bushcraft/ outdoor education and want to pass your skills and enthusiasm on to children, Active Adventure could offer you the perfect opportunity for work this summer!

Job Description

Active Adventure Camps have been specifically designed for children aged 6 – 14 years old who want to have fun and learn new skills outdoors, as an alternative to sports.

  • We aim to provide meaningful, creative, and engaging outdoor learning experiences, through a range of activities – you’ll be assisting in the daily organisation and operation of the camp so that children are kept safe, learn new skills, and have fun.
  • Activities may include: Kayaking, raft building, nature art projects, archery, shelter building, orienteering, survival skills, fire lighting, search and rescue training, wood carving, foraging, navigation training, minibeast hunts, assault courses, campfire cooking, and team building games.

You will need to have:

  • Experience of working with children aged 6-14, in a range of outdoor activities
  • Appropriate experience and/or NGB qualifications in relevant outdoor activities, particularly paddle sports or archery would be desirable
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
  • Ability to work on own initiative, but also as part of a team
