Operations Assistant

Location: Kidlington, Oxfordshire with travel to all camp locations where needed
Rates of pay: £160 per day, dependant on age and experience
Free childcare available for children aged 4-14
Dates: 27 - 31 October plus future school holidays
Hours: between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday

Active Camps has been providing fun holiday activities for children aged 4 -14 years successfully for over 20 years.

We are looking for Activity Leaders to join our Team to provide a safe, welcoming and fun place for children to relax, play and learn, to ensure that the highest possible standards are met, and children have a positive experience at the camp.

Our camps are not residential, and you should be able to commute daily.

Key Duties

  • Support the Operations Director with the preparation, setup, operation and pack-down of camp sites
  • Assist with the organisation, storage, preparation and transportation of sports and play equipment across all camp locations
  • Deliver operational support across multiple sites to ensure camps run efficiently and safely
  • Support staffing logistics and provide on-site support where required, including working directly with children aged 4–14 as part of the camp team
  • Help the Operations Director to support and advise staff, parents and site partners as necessary
  • Check, organise and file paperwork and digital documentation returned from camps
  • Provide administrative and operational support at Head Office, including assisting with phone and email enquiries when required
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety and operational compliance across all sites
  • Assist with additional operational tasks and projects as directed by the Operations Director

Ideally you will:

  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Confident in dealing with people at all levels
  • A quick learner with strong attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office/Teams and general IT systems
  • Enthusiastic, practical and proactive in their approach to work
  • Flexible and willing to support across multiple areas of the business
  • Able to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced childcare and operational environment

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
  • Experience working with children and understanding how children’s activity settings operate
  • Understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted standards, or willingness to complete relevant training
  • Willingness to travel regularly between camp locations
