Activity Leader

Location: Active Camps at The Leys, The Fen Causeway, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB2 7AD
Rates of pay: £100.00 to £135.30 per day, depending on age and experience
Dates: May Half Term (26 - 29 May) and Summer Holidays (20 July - 21 August)
Hours: 8.15am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday (you do not need to be available to work for all these dates)

Active Camps has been providing fun holiday activities for children aged 4 -14 years successfully for over 20 years.

We are looking for Activity Leaders to join our Team to provide a safe, welcoming and fun place for children to relax, play and learn, to ensure that the highest possible standards are met, and children have a positive experience at the camp.

Our camps are not residential, and you should be able to commute daily.

Key Duties

  • Work as part of a team to devise and deliver a range of engaging and challenging activities for children aged 4 – 14 years. Our range of activities includes anything from arts and crafts, cooking and swimming to fun sports and games, plus wow activities like bouncy castles and archery.
  • Follow signing in/out procedures to ensure the safe arrival of children at the camp and the safe delivery to parents and/or named carers at end of day
  • Supervise snack and lunch times
  • Keep children safe by following the camp’s policies and procedures at all times, particularly with regard to the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures
  • Keep premises clean and tidy, and take care of play and sports equipment

Ideally you will:

  • Have at least six months experience of working or volunteering with 4 – 14 year-old children in a play, school or similar environment
  • Be able to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
  • Be enthusiastic, and have a flexible and positive attitude to work
  • Be able to use your own initiative but also be comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Be willing to undertake appropriate training such as safeguarding, first aid and food hygiene
