Breakfast Club Assistant

Oxford Active currently runs just one breakfast club at the Blake School in Witney. The club is open from 7.50am to 8.50am each morning. Breakfast club assistants will be helping with the day-to-day organisation and operation of the club, ensuring children are kept safe, have fun and get ready for a busy day at school.

 


Duties will include:

  • Taking part in the delivery of creative and stimulating play activities in a safe, fun and caring environment
  • Helping ensure safe arrival of children at the club and the safe delivery to classrooms at the beginning of the school day
  • Providing breakfast to the children
  • Administering first aid when necessary
  • Being responsible for tidying the room and clearing away at the end of the club
  • Working within company policies and procedures, in particular being aware of our responsibilities around the
  • Safeguarding of children in our care

Someone who is:

    • Experience or working with 4 – 11 year old children
    • Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
    • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
    • An appropriate qualification in Playwork at NVQ Level 2 or the equivalent is desirable but not essential
    • Must share Oxford Active’s commitment to safeguarding and be prepared to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure

  • You can work from one to five days a week
  • The hours are normally 1-1.25 hours each morning between 7.40 and 8.55am.
  • Pay is £8.75 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay
  • Term time only, but can be combined with school holiday work at Oxford High Holiday Camp or Oxford Spires Language School
  • You need to be at least 17 years old
  • Training in safeguarding, first aid and specialist activities available
